Annual Conference for Business Owners Union and Business Youth Union conference

The 2nd Annual Conference for Business Owners Union and Business Youth Union conference in Doha-Qatar in December 3-5th will mainly focus on lining business to business meetings. It will also facilitate linkages to financing institutions that will be at the conference. The OIC through Islamic development bank has made available over 100 billion dollars in financing for private sector business projects.

The arrangements of these projects are organized under the OIC -Business owners Union, which has its national coordinating offices through the Chamber of commerce and Industry of each Member State. The Youth Conference is a highlight of the Doha conference; they are looking at establishing a Youth Business Union with its own secretariat, and national coordination offices. The Youth delegation that will travel to Doha will form the nucleus of the National team in each OIC Country. Please note that the Youth are deemed to be 40 years and below.

The Main BOU secretariat will meet hotel food and transport expenses of Youth delegates, we get our own tickets. Each delegate is required to submit a profile of his or her business or a business idea that is viable for financing, or an existing business that is looking to expand. A guiding form has been attached. The profiles and business feasibility studies are expected to be submitted by 10th October before the last preparatory meeting, which will be held on the 15th of October 2011. All submitted projects, the promoters of the businesses, their contact information etc will be published in a conference catalog and on an online portal which BOU-OIC is heavily investing in to further promote business and financing linkages.

Business Owners Union in States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Based on the decision of the Islamic conference of the Foreign Ministers of States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 23 to 25 Juamada Al-awal 1427 AH corresponding to 19 to 21 June, 2006 AD, as stated in the final statement of the conference the call to establish the "Business Owners Union", Sheikh / Salih Abdullah Kamel , Chairman of business owners union in States of Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Chairman of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has started the establishment of the " Business Owners Union in the States of Organization of Islamic cooperation" beginning from the second half of 2007. He began firstly by defining the objectives of the Union then meeting the decision makers and executives of Chambers of Commerce to discuss and get into the stage of signing an agreement with Unions of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and then promoting to the memberships of Union in cooperation with other Commerce Chambers, organizations, associations and trading clubs in the Islamic Countries.

Objectives of the Union:

 

  • To strengthen the acquaintance and communication among business owners of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to encourage the trading exchange.
  • To contribute to the economic development of Muslim Countries by promoting business and investment opportunities and agencies of member companies to expand scope of trade and investment exchange among the Member States.
  • To encourage the exchange of economic experiences among the Union Members in various Islamic States to develop the volume of mutual trade and increase investment in the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
  • To facilitated transportation of business owners between countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
